Ekpuk Refugee Camp in Akwa Ibom State Nigeria is home to some of the refugees mostly children and women from Ndian Division in the South West region of Cameroon fleeing the ongoing war since the escalation of the Anglophone crisis in 2016 in Cameroon. This camp is often referred to as the “Abandoned Camp” with no drinking water, no toilets, leaking roof, no electricity, no windows and doors, no floors, very little or no food, no schooling for the kids. The human conditions for refugees in this camp are very deplorable.

Bright Light Projects (BLP) 2018 Annual Fundraiser was ficused on the following key objectives:

-Phase 1: construction of a borehole/ Purchase of a 4 Water Tanks/ Purchase of a Power Generator to pump water from boreholes to tanks (Status Completed)

-Phase 2: Registration for kids to start school January 2019/2020 Academic School Year (Status Completed)

Last year BLP was able to send some of the children back to school after staying at home for three years, this year, it is a bigger challenge to send more children to school. This year, the children are counting on your support to continue school in line with BLP’s vision of providing support to BLP beneficiaries to become self-reliant and contribute positively to the development of their communities.
