KADIATU KANU

Kadiatu Kanu is a 16 years old child who was abused at the age 13 while in junior secondary school [JSSI] by a 45 years old man. Kadiatu was then staying with her aunt while her father stays in the village as a widower, as a result of the abuse Kadiatu couldn’t cope to continue schooling as she faces a lot of stigmatization/ psychological abuse by community relatives and peer group in school where she decided to return to the village join her father. Upon BLP’s community vulnerable assessments, we discovered her case, She had long dropped out of school

Kadiatu Kanu is now a successful beneficiary under Bright Light Projects Girls Shall Rise (GSR) Program. BLP brought her back from the village together with Aunty to come and continue schooling.

She is now schooling at the Sylvanus Municipal Junior Secondary School and she is currently in JSS2 and now staying with her Aunty at 20 Majudi Street Makeni.
