Mariatu Sesay based on our vulnerability assessment her biological parent are said to be separated at her early age, since then, they are unknown location and yet to never know her both parent,

At a tender age, Mariatu Sesay lost contact with her parents who were separated when she was just a child. She never knew them.

She lived with her grandparents while attending the Ansarul Islamic School in Makeni. Lacking parental guidance, she dropped out of school at the age of 15 at the junior secondary school level in Makeni.

After dropping out of school, she was forced to the streets by peer pressure where she became a commercial sex worker, later got pregnant, and now has a child whom she is taking care of.

Mariatu Sesay became one of the beneficiaries of the GIRLS SHALL RISE PROJECT of the BLP and has now been enrolled in the Home Management Department of the Sierra Leone Opportunities Industrialization center [SLOIC].

BLP is backing her up with counseling, while also monitoring her activities at home and in school.

She is currently on an internship program after taking her final examinations. She will be graduating after the internship.
