Phase 2 of Covid-19 Community Sensitization Campaign in BLP operational Communities is A Milestone – Sierra Leone

Welcome to Bright Light Projects September 2020 Newsletter,

Upholding Sensitive Prevention and Control to Curtail the Spread of COVID-19 Virus in BLP operational Communities” is part of our WASH Initiative in helping communities improve long-term proper Hygiene and Sanitation practices in their communities thereby encouraging healthy living improving the livelihood for all citizens.

The month of August was a very busy one for BLP teams in Western Area Rural & Bombali Districts as BLP kicked off a bi-monthly 12 months Covid-19 sensitization campaign. About 11 Communities within Waterloo locality. and 8 communities in Makeni locality. Earlier in July 2020, BLP had trained 16 Community Ambassadors in Bombali District, and 22 Community Ambassadors in Western Area Rural Districts. Our community engagements are powered by BLP Covid-19 Ambassadors with the supervision by BLP team members. Communities were sensitized.

Most communities were very thrilled and appreciative of BLP efforts in educating them on the dangers and preventive practices in fighting Covid-19 pandemic. BLP left hand sanitizers, soap and veronica buckets in these communities. Next round of this engagement will be in October 2020 for all communities for round 2 of community sensitization

BLP’s approach to Covid-19 is a long-term sustained intervention making sure our flagship WASH programs are fully integrated into our Covid-19 sensitization initiative. BLP plans to make our Covid-19 campaign become part of the daily lives for our communities. We must think beyond this pandemic to overcome it’s deadly nature.

Local Outreach, Education & Collaboration is the theme of this BLP Covid-19 Sensitization Campaign.

We look forward to your partnership in contributing towards Covid-19 long-term sensitization campaign in helping communities fight this deadly virus through Local Outreach, Educations , and Collaboration over the next 12 months.
