Bright Light Projects (BLP) has entered into a new strategic partnership with the Women Empowerment and Family Center (WPFC) in Santa sub-division, Northwest Region of Cameroon. The WPFC is a vital grassroots initiative dedicated to uplifting rural women by providing resources that promote sustainable livelihoods, economic independence, and greater representation in peacebuilding processes.
During a productive meeting on July 2, 2026, the BLP team and the Director of WPFC, Santa, explored opportunities for collaboration. The Center offers comprehensive programs, including livelihood support through agricultural projects (such as the distribution of piglets and chicks), mediation and peacebuilding workshops that empower women in conflict resolution and local decision-making, and skills development training tailored to rural women’s self-sufficiency.
BLP will begin implementation with an initial cohort of 10 beneficiaries under the Girls Shall Rise (GSR) program, focusing on vocational skills such as Catering & Hotel Management, Sewing & Decoration, Crafts, ICT, and Hair Dressing. This partnership significantly expands BLP’s reach into remote, conflict-affected communities where the armed conflict has been most intense over the past decade.
This collaboration builds on BLP’s successful long-term partnership with WEFC Buea, through which over 180 young women have been trained in the past four years.
