Bright Light Projects (BLP) exists to empower vulnerable youth, rebuild broken communities, and sustain our planet through holistic, sustainable, and gender-responsive interventions in West Africa.
We achieve this by equipping young people, young women, and marginalized youth with skills, agency, and opportunities, while fostering community resilience and environmental restoration.

Our Vision
A vision for every young person.
The Foundation
Our Three Core Pillars
All our programs and decisions are guided by these three interconnected pillars:
01
Empowering Youth
We believe skills development is the ultimate anti-poverty tool.
Through our Gender-Sensitive Resilience (GSR) and Youth Mainstreaming for Empowerment (YME) programs, we provide vocational training, leadership development, psychosocial support, and entrepreneurship opportunities to help youth break cycles of poverty and marginalization.
02
Rebuilding Communities
We support healing and social cohesion in areas affected by conflict, Ebola, and exclusion.
Through the Mend the Gap program and community advocacy initiatives (such as SAVE OUR GIRLS and BLP Mothers Club), we reintegrate Ebola orphans, reduce gender-based violence stigma, and strengthen community resilience.
03
Sustaining Our Planet
We promote environmental stewardship and climate action.
Through Reforesting Hope, waste management/recycling programs, and agroecology education, we restore degraded lands, reduce pollution, and build sustainable livelihoods that protect the environment for future generations.
Interconnected
How the Pillars Work Together
These three pillars are deliberately interconnected. When we empower youth with skills and confidence, they become active agents in rebuilding their communities. Stronger communities, in turn, are better equipped to protect and restore the environment. This integrated approach allows us to create deep, lasting, and multiplier effects across economic, social, and environmental outcomes.
