We are excited to announce the appointment of Dr. Marvin Gobina as the new Chairman of the Board of Trustees for BLP. Having served as BLP’s Chief Operating Officer for the past four years, Dr. Gobina brings a deep understanding of our organization and an exceptional track record of leadership to this pivotal role.

A Doctor of Pharmacy for over 11 years, Dr. Gobina graduated from Texas Southern University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 2007. His distinguished career includes roles as a clinical pharmacist for Kroger, UHS, and HCA Health Systems, a clinical consultant for numerous nursing homes and skilled nursing facilities across South Texas, and the pharmacy manager and owner of GPS Pharmacy. His entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to community are further exemplified by his establishment of the Julie Ebenye Gobina academic scholarship for deserving female students in Cameroon.

Dr. Gobina’s prior leadership as BLP’s Chief Operating Officer (COO) has already strengthened our operations and advanced our mission to empower communities through strategic partnerships that promote sustainable livelihoods, resilient food systems, environmental stewardship, and clean energy access. As Chairman, his vision and expertise will further drive our vision of fostering thriving communities where empowered individuals become self-reliant leaders, shaping a just and sustainable future.
