Today, Bright Light Projects joined the global community in marking International Women’s Day under the powerful theme “Rights, Justice and Action: for all women and girls.” in Buea, Cameroon, our team brought together women staff, beneficiaries from the Women’s Empowerment and the Family Centre (WEFC) Buea, and community members for a heartfelt celebration of women’s achievements, contributions, and unbreakable spirit.
The event created a safe, inspiring space for reflection and collective reaffirmation of women’s central role in families, communities, and society. Participants shared personal journeys, celebrated progress, and recommitted to advancing gender equality and empowerment values that lie at the very heart of BLP’s work.
This gathering strongly aligns with Bright Light Projects’ Theory of Change: empowering vulnerable youth, especially women and girls, to become drivers of positive transformation. By building capacity, confidence, and unity among women, we strengthen the foundations of sustainable development at every level. Participants expressed deep appreciation for the opportunity to connect, reflect, and celebrate together.
